Special Projects Completed
EAGLE RANCH ACADEMY - From 2003 - 2005, Dave & Pat Arslanian with the help of The COACHES TEAM were dedicated to making preparations for the launch of EAGLE RANCH ACADEMY ("ERA")...which finally happened on Thanksgiving 2005...and the first student enrolled that weekend. Members of The COACHES TEAM Foundation provided valuable time, experience, and expertise in helping bring important pieces together for this important launch...such as: locating and securing the right property; licensing (city, county, state) of the property for intended use; preparation of the property which required extensive and complete rehab of the grounds and buildings; developing the business model including all financial details, along with helping secure the funding necessary for the launching and operating a successful business of this type and magnitude; and ongoing Consultations following the launch through present. The COACHES TEAM Foundation is proud and pleased to say..."We helped launch, build, and establish one of the top Youth Development Programs in the world!" Please visit EAGLE RANCH at - www.eagleranchacademy.com ANSWERS FOR PARENTS - In 2007, once again The COACHES TEAM provided important resources in helping launch a program to serve families and struggling young people. In Consultation with EAGLE RANCH ACADEMY, and ERA's desire to help families that were unable to enroll in the ERA Youth Development School, it was determined that many parents were being overwhelmed with the maze of information they must sort through in order to find the help their child (struggling teens and young adults) needed. As a result, ANSWERS FOR PARENTS was launched and a free service provided to parents to assist them in finding the most appropriate program / school (residential treatment school, therapeutic boarding school, outdoor / wilderness program, youth development school, summer camps, emotional growth seminars, etc) for their struggling teen or young adult. The hope is...that the families that have been helped, and friends that recognize the "free" services provided by ANSWERS FOR PARENTS...will appreciate the efforts of The COACHES TEAM in helping launch this valuable life saving service to families, and will "pay it forward" by contributing financial, service, or other resources to help add to the charitable work of The COACHES TEAM. In the meantime, visit AFP at - www.answersforparents.com COACH SARK & KUSH REUNION - In September 2012, The COACHES TEAM helped initiate and bring about a Special Reunion of two old friends, who had helped launch the coaching career of Dave & Pat Arslanian (the founders of The COACHES TEAM Foundation). It was a very special occasion, and reunited two old friends who had not seen each other since their retirements from college coaching. Coach Sark Arslanian (Dave's Dad) age 90, and Coach Frank Kush age 86...were both highly successful and winning college football coaches...and Coach Sark (head football coach at Weber State & Colorado State University) called his friend Coach Frank Kush (head football coach at Arizona State University), and together they helped launch a "Young Coaches" career in 1972. This Special Reunion was held in conjunction with the Hall of Fame Induction of longtime ASU Assistant Football Coach, Larry Kentera...who was also very instrumental in helping launch Dave's coaching career, as he was the Defensive Coordinator who Dave worked under at ASU. ***This is how you "pay it forward"...as Dave & Pat have forever been indebted to these great men...and with the help of The COACHES TEAM this event took place. ASU ALUMNI ASSOCIATION "Brick Paver of Recognition" - In June 2013, Dave & Pat contributed personally to the ASU Alumni Association and a Special Customized Brick Paver was placed in the heart of the ASU Campus at "One Alumni Terrace at Old Main" to recognize the important men who launched and helped promote Dave & Pat's lifetime coaching career. **A Picture of this Special Brick Paver and the message inscribed will be posted here soon....please check back. ADULT REHAB PROGRAM "CORAL SANDS OF ST GEORGE" - The COACHES TEAM spent several years and personal resources assisting EAGLE RANCH in all of the preparation for the launching of an Adult Drug & Alcohol Rehabilitation Residential Center in St George, Utah. It was launched..but then unfortunately this program was put on hold...and IF it is ever re-launched, it will focus on not only Drug & Alcohol Abuse, but also on the Depression, Anxiety, and Mood Disorders that lead to abuse of drugs and alcohol. The Arslanian brothers (Dave, Paul and James) were recruited by a Medical Doctor to establish an Adult Rehab Program to compliment the Medical and Detox Clinics in his "Institute of Balanced Health" facility. His request of the Arslanian's was to build a program as good as the EAGLE RANCH ACADEMY program they built 12 years ago; and IF ever re-launched...CORAL SANDS will also be one of the best in the world as well. **A link to the website will be placed here...IF and when it is launched. Thank you. SCC FOOTBALL 40yr REUNION - In October 2013, the FIRST EVER SCC Football 40yr Reunion was launched by Dave & Pat with the help of The COACHES TEAM Foundation, and a Reunion Team made up of Scottsdale Community College Administration (Donna Young, CJ Coppola, and Doug Madoski) and former SCC Coaches (Larry Philpot, Jim Anderson, Ken Giovando, John Avianantos, and Steve Loy). In the Fall of 1973, as a 2nd year "Young Coach" Dave helped launch football at Scottsdale Community College under the leadership of Head Coach Larry Philpot; and with Dave's last duties at SCC before departing to become the new head coach at Snow College, being a Fund Raiser in which he "recruited" Pat and her roommate Joyce (known as The City Women) to attend...and then 10 days later asking Pat (Top Choice) to marry him...it only seemed fitting the the FIRST EVER Football Team of SCC should be honored on its 40th Anniversary. Thus, a new and important Homecoming Tradition was launched and given an opportunity to continue with Reunion #2 taking place in October 2014. SCC President Jan Gehler and Team embraced this Special Event, their participation over the first two years were vital to it's success; and after Dave & Pat and The COACHES TEAM handed off the "heavy lifting" of the Reunion to the SCC Reunion Team (headed up by Donna Young), and former Assistant Football & Head Golf Coach Steve Loy (1975-84) and former Players Rick Sowers (1974-76), Mark Muller (1974-75), and Brian Chambers (1973-74) worked hard to carry it forward as a Homecoming Tradition. Under the leadership of Rick Sowers...the Reunion Team moved this great and important event forward in a very classy and prestigious way in 2015 and 2016. Although the Presidents of the Maricopa County Community College football schools voted to discontinue the football programs effective the Fall of 2019...many great relationships were renewed from 40 years ago...and new ones established with players, coaches, and school administrators. These relationships will live on...and as a result of some of these relationships...the SAVE Junior College Football campaign was launched...and due to the superman efforts of Doug Madoski (former SCC head coach) and Steve Weiss (SCC Assistant)...JC Football was played in the Fall of 2019...and will continue for the future as a "private endeavor." For more details...see The COACHES TEAM "Special Projects On-Going." In the meantime...visit the SCC FOOTBALL 40yr Reunion website at - www.sccfootball40yrreunion.com SNOW Football 40yr Reunion - In 1975 a group of young men (Coaches, Players, and Support Staff) came together, under the leadership of President J. Marvin Higbee and Head Coach Dave Arslanian to launch the "building" of a winning football legacy for Snow College. A winning legacy that has endured and been carried forward by outstanding players, coaches, and support staff. Forty years later, on September 25 & 26, 2015, some of those same "men" came back together again to renew their bond...and launch a FIRST...the "FIRST EVER Snow Football 40yr Reunion." Members of the 1975-80 teams came together again for Reunion #2 to honor the 1976 Football Team during the 2016 Snow College Homecoming Weekend...and it has NOW become a Homecoming Tradition as many of the same team members have come together to honor the 1977, 1978, 1979, and 1980 Teams on Homecoming. This historic event was initiated by Dave & Pat Arslanian with the help of The COACHES TEAM Foundation, and a Reunion Team led by Rosie Connor (Executive Director of the Snow College Foundation) and her staff...and with the strong support of the Snow Administration - President Gary Carlston, and Head Football Coach Britt Maughan...the goal was to start a Homecoming Tradition of honoring the Snow Football Teams on the Anniversary of their 40th year! And, help create an atmosphere of re-engagement for former Snow College Athletes, Alumni, and Special Friends...and Rosie and her staff made it a roaring success. The Reunion has been carried forward by Janie Harris (Director of the Snow College Foundation)...Head Football Coach Paul Peterson (former Badger QB)...handed it off to Head Coach Andrew Mitchell (former Badger OL)...and now handed off again...this time to Head Coach Zac Erekson...and President Brad Cook (former Badger DB) has carried forward the vision established by those before him...and Janie and her staff are carrying it forward with the help of former Head Coach Paul Tidwell...and Snow College Football Players will continue to be honored on their 40th year during Homecoming. On behalf of the "1975 & 76 & 77 & 78 & 79 & 80 Football Teams"...we are proud to have once again started a legacy that will endure...and pass on to the current Snow Football Team what it meant to be a Badger Football Player 40yrs ago, and the impact it had on our lives during those 40yrs. And...in 2022 we look forward to seeing Director of the Snow College Foundation Janie Harris, Head Football Coach Zac Erekson...Athletic Director and Basketball Coach Rob Nielson...and President and former Badger Football Player Brad Cook...add to the Homecoming Tradition...and continue to make the SNOW Football 40yr Reunion one of the highlights of Homecoming as we honor the players of the 1981-82 Snow Football Teams.
